The Hotel

Leo Ming Pei lifted the ban of, successful, architectural breakdown within its immediate surroundings in the central Louvre patio, just a few meters away from where Eiffel a century before had erected the towns’ symbol. Viura inherited this spirit and offers 33 rooms and privileged suites in a unique building which breaks up with the landscape as well as blending in with it. As a gem that emerges amongst the rocks, the Viura volumes, their textures, colours and gleams are already a symbol of the Álavese Rioja. From the panoramic terrace on the top of the building we can see the San Andrés church (1538-1728) and around the village the peaks of the Cantabria mountain range. Quality is a norm, with King sized beds or showers with rain effect in all the rooms, a powerfully personal style in every spaces.

The hotel has two De Luxe rooms with open bathrooms and showers, one of which has a grasping bar for the loo. There is also a bathroom adapted to wheel chairs, in the common area. Lift to all the floors and access to the restaurant.

Blended diners, cooking lessons, gastronomical events, commented tastings in the hotels wine cellar. Visits to the Rioja Alavesa wineries, excursions, walks through the vineyards, approach to pelota vasca, hot air balloon rides. In September, Grape harvest feast, a must of the region. Wine culture Museum. Yuso and Suso monasteries.

Gastronomy

 Cuisine
In the hotel gastronomy has preferential treatment and offers an a la carte gourmet menu based on Riojan and Basque cooking, with creative hints made with market produce. The restaurant setting and the tasting room are avant-guard, with a unique design, a space with much character. The wine menu deserves special mention, because of its level, a world where we are advised by the Hotels sommelier.
