Cases De Son Barbassa

The Hotel

Early in the morning through our bedroom windows we can hear the triple “pup” of the hoopoe, the sparrows trill, and one wants to imagine the sound of the waves. They are not far, crossing olive groves, carob, almond and pine trees, the most beautiful in Mallorca. Our small hotel is by the Parc Natural de Llevant, where we can find the most privileged spot along the beaches of this virgin coast of dream blues.
Cases de Son Barbassa are old neighbours in the area, protected by a XVI century defence tower, which, like the old houses which the family built close to it, forms the privileged petit hotel. The tower walls and what was once a kitchen, now contain small spaces with sofas in which to read. In the houses we can find twelve luminous bedrooms, and by these a swimming pool surrounded by real beds  with white gauze canopies which give the ensemble a chic look, these are an all year round favourite corner. If warm, a swim, if cool, a good magazine with our favourite cocktail.
While we think about all this soon after sunrise, breakfast is served on the open air terrace, between wild rose bushes and  the aroma of lavender. But this early morning breeze advises us to enter the glassed in dining room with views over the countryside and the Capdepera castle.
Later we will visit the Mesquida or Agulla coves to prove that these dream beaches are real paradises.
