The Saucelle waterfall (Salto de Saucelle), which regulates the river Douro on the frontier of Salamanca with Portugal, it used to have a small village where 500people lived. Saved from being torn down today it is a 14 hectare complex which has a 4 star hotel, individual houses or apartments, all with private gardens. A perfect setting for couples and families, it has private and social areas. In the compound there are a few outstanding sculptures of Angel Orensanz, these add a special contrast to the landscape. The hotel has 10 rooms to offer, with modern decoration, a spacious drawing room with a fireplace and a terrace overlooking the Douro river. Some of the rooms have private terraces, with views over the river. It is a privileged place for nature lovers, because the Arribes del Duero -Douro river- is a bird sanctuary. Black stork, vultures and many other species can be observed without leaving the compound. Within the premises the are 24 villas with one or two bedrooms, 4 apartments, an inn, the hotel we already mentioned, restaurant, swimming pool, outdoor terrace, church, spaces for meetings, conventions and events, as well as sport and leisure areas. A true village, in the middle of nature.
